Don’t be a smartass
Nikolai
Just give me 20 next cards, regardless of their «age»!
Jana from DuoCards
I am not sure if I fully understand your request, could you please describe it in more detail?
Nikolai
You see, there is a smart algorithm which pops up cards according to how long ago they were last viewed and whether I swipe them left or right.
I'm constantly finding myself in the same situation: I have hundreds of cards, but can't view any of them because they are all too "fresh", i.e. the algorithm "thinks" that I have gone through them recently.
A good feature would be just "unhide" a bunch of cards eventhough they were not supposed to be shown yet according to The Smart Algorithm. Also the algorithm appears to consider a card "finished" (learned) after certain amount of time and will not show it anymore, however, that's not the case - I forget most cards after a month or two.
The algorithm is way too smart and it doesn't really work in practice - it's just getting in my way.
PS. I apologise my language - was quite frustrated yesterday when I had especially dedicated time for learning cards, but the app refused to show me any.

Nikolai: We have a similar request here: https://duocards.canny.io/feature-requests/p/user-can-choose-the-space-repetition-algorithm
So I would like to merge your post to this one, so it can be all together.
Nikolai

Remove annoying card for 30
ElvisPresley
When I learn words, there are words that you cannot remember for the current session. And this annoying card appears again and again. I propose to do this: if you sent the card 5 times in a row to the left, then remove it from the deck and show it again in half an hour. I ask you to implement this, as it is really annoying and I want to sting the program. thank

Hi Elvis, thank you for sharing your insight! We already have an "User can choose the space repetition algorithm" suggestion in place, so I’m going to merge yours with it to consolidate votes and keep things organized.

I think you could add an option bringing cards more often to learn, I want to revew a card but It says "30 days until return back " even if it apeard a few times not good enought memorize. Please you should add a manageable time for the decks to return.

Words are moved to 'learned' category too fast.
Andrey L
Pls consider introducing some setting that tunes how long words should appear before considered to be learned.

Hi, thanks for your post! A similar idea is already on Canny, so I'm merging it into the existing post to consolidate votes and keep everything organized. ✌️ Sasha from DuoCards

I agree with what JamOnDrums wrote, that "repeat period should depend on the user and their previous scores on a particular card. but I definitely think that the durations should not be completely fixed but should adapt to the learner. " Harder cards should be displayed more often than easy cards, as this is how most flashcard learning programs work. Intervals cannot be fixed, as the learning effectiveness will be low. Instead of fixed, uniform intervals for all cards, a single coefficient should be introduced for each card individually, calculating the time of the next repetition. With an incorrect answer, the coefficient decreases (the card is shown more often), with a correct answer, it increases.
It works like this: the previous learning interval multiplied by the coefficient (K) equals the new interval.
Example with correct answer (for a selected card):
for K = 2, n=0.3
If interval >1 day
K=K+n
K=2+03=2.3
1 * 2. 3= 2.3 (days)
correct answer
K=2.3+0.3=2.6
- 3* 2.6 = 5.98 (days)
correct answer
K=2.6+0.3=2.9
5.98* 2.9 = 17.34 (days)
correct answer
K=2.9+0.3=3.2
17.34* 3.2 = 55.48 (days)
With an incorrect answer:
We start learning from the beginning.
Intervals:
90 seconds
30 minutes
If intervals >=1 day
incorrect answer
K=3.2-0.3=2.9
1*2.9=2.9 days
incorrect answer
K=2.9-0.3=2.6
1*2.6=2.6 days
incorrect answer
K=2.6-0.3=2.3
1*2.3=2.3 days
This is only example.

Review time for the words
s
Michaela
Hi Tatiana, thank you for your comment! You can adjust how often the words appear by swiping left instead of right if you want to see the word again sooner.🙌
Other than that, a similar idea is already on Canny, so I’m merging your post with the existing one, 'User can choose the spaced repetition algorithm,' to consolidate votes and keep things organized.✌️Michaela from DuoCards
